Wowowowowowowowowow~~~~

So for the last little while I've been travelling around and had the opportunity to try all the delicious treats and sweets and yummy goodness that this trip affords. So far I've been in India and Turkey and mmmmmmmmmmm.....so much good food to be had.

Since I've mostly a vegetarian, I've definitely prefered the food in India over Turkey (cause damn they eat a lot of meat in Turkey!~they love the kebab) but the dish that stands out the most from Turkey was Gozleme...which is basically Turkish crepes...It's not too prominent in the city (Istanbul) but once you get to the countryside it's everywhere....usually there's a group of women working over this big hot curved griddle. Some of them are making the dough, some rolling it out and then one or two cooking it....They make all sorts but the "norm" is with a bunch of Feta....many also get spinach but I gotta stay away from that cause it and me are not digestive friends.....anyways it was delicioso!!!! I only spent two weeks in Turkey but the other thing that I absolutely *loved* was Hot-jacket potatoes, this is basically the turkish version of the twice-baked potato(except a little different) which believe it or not I had not actually eaten before, and in truth the ones in America never looked as appetizing as these...but yum yum yum yum yum, this was my dinner almost every night in Istanbul. And OH Yeah, Turkish Delight really is as good as they say it is in The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe

And then Food from India...again....lots and lots of WOW goes here!!! I hadn't eaten too much Indian food before my trip here besides the obligatory dahl and samosas and such but OMG what amazing food!!!! It's so good and getting the chance to travel all around the country affords me an ever-changing menu of new items. Things I have loved so far and I encourage you to try at an Indian restaurant near you (caution check out the reviews and such~just so you don't have a bad experience...one good tip for choosing a place here is if a lot of Indian people are eating there, it's probably good)....OK here's my list of deliciousness so far~note spelling may vary based on region:
Alu Paratha with Raita(yogurt)
Masala Dosa (or Cheese too)
Vegetable Biryani
Vegetable Thali
Channa Masala
Alu Gobi
Mango Lassi, and really any kind of fruit Lassi
Vegetable Samosa
Pani Puri
Bhel Puri
Paneer Roll

that's all I got so far b/c I can't remeber the rest but it's all super tasty.....the one dish I hated was Palak Paneer (but didn't know it was loaded with spinach~ and I had it in Bombay and an Indian friend said he's never had good Palak Paneer in Bombay)

Anyways enjoy! I will try to find and take and post some pictures of these yummy treats

Greetings GoOd EaTeRs,

I thought you might be interested in hearing about a new company that creates great, convenient, organic, raw foods, snacks, and personal care products. I have found their food to be a great solution to eating healthy no matter where I am, whether I'm at home, at work, traveling, back packing, or just too busy to prepare meals myself. Plus, the personal care products they create are excellent and have none of the chemicals you find in most products bought over the counter or even in a lot of the "natural" lines.

This company is called the Whole Food Farmacy (www.ibis.wholefoodfarmacy.com). Their foods are prepared with either all raw ingredients, or some with ingredients that have been either sun dried or slow pressure dehydrated, ground at low temperatures, and with no fillers, to maintain the natural whole-food state and keep all nutrients and enzymes intact. All ingredients are organic and from heirloom seed, family-farmed crops.

In addition to the excellent quality and care they have taken in preparing their foods & products, they have also applied principles of sacred geometry to infuse the products with the synergy the golden-phi ratio (divine proportion). I could go on and on about this aspect of it, which is what first really caught my attention. But needless to say, this extra formulation and intentionality of their recipes create a unique energetic signature to the food that results in an amplified effect that is greater than the sum of its parts.

My personal experience from eating their food is that I am not near as hungry anymore, I've lost my craving for processed sugar-filled sweets, it has cleansed my body, my skin has cleared up, and I have more energy. This food totally keeps me going and it is now what my body craves, in addition to craving other raw, whole foods. And truly it has been a god-send for me and my busy schedule.

THE GREAT AMERICAN WHOLE FOOD FARMACY

Convenient Organic Raw Whole Food

The Whole Food Farmacy combines the best of the golden treasures of a forgotten age-old wisdom with today’s need for health, weight loss, beauty, and vitality.

"The thousands of vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals [beneficial plant compounds] in whole foods act synergistically together to create a more powerful effect than the sum of their parts, producing a result which cannot be recreated by supplements," says Jeff Prince, vice president for education at the American Institute for Cancer Research.

One of my favorites~ Raw Food Pies:
Basics - a crust and fruit for the filling, choose your own ingredients and bee creative~! Here's something to get you started....

crust:
soak 1 cup of raw almoonds for 6-12 hours, then blend or chop for crust
mix with a handful of dates and if you want bananas (yumm)

toppings:
anything you want.... what's good FRUIT! Macadamium nuts, raw unfiltered Vanilla bean (blend the 2 together with young cocunut milk and you got a super yummy creamy topping to over the fruit)
Bananas and blueberries is a wonderful and inexpensive combination.
Drizzle maple syrup over top and you got something sweet*

Don't forget the most important part: Make a manadalla out of the fruit you choose to make it a spiritually terrific piece- remember you are what you eat!

The more love you put in the more you will be filled to the brim with laughter- Raw food pies make you high!

*Great for potlucks or intimate evenings with friends or lovers!~ Have fun and don't forget to share some with me. I'm a good eater!

Stages of a Food Coma:
1. Eating a large amount of cooked food with a lot of carbs in it, such as potatoes, pasta, rice, and heavy, creamy sauces.
2. Feeling really tired
3. Not moving, or completely unable to move. Number one excuse- you're digesting! It's a fact that it takes longer for the food to digest when you've consumed large amounts of carbo hydrates or meats. (it's not abad thing, just a fact).
4. Falling asleep or hours of the day pass with out moving much because you are in food coma dome
5. Waking up, or slowly moving and finding that you are hungry again.
6. Let's eat ;)

Advice:
You can relieve the food coma by eating less or slower. I know it's hard because the food is just so tasty and you don't want to waste anything.
*If you eat more leafy greens with your food then you have a higher chance of not entering into a food coma.
*Snack or balanced meals- make for a more balanced person!
* Food comas can be simular to a sugar crash, if you find yourself in one, watch a movie or read a book or conversate, there can be some fun interesting converstaions that go on during a food coma!
peace. If you have any more advice let us know, keep this community happy and healthy throguh the food we consume, and hey let's keep it local and organic!
*Eating processed foods will most likely put you in a food coma or low energy. Stay high and vibrant with raw foods or eat what you feel. Good luck and send some advice.
